Storm, Bow Lake

about this painting

Bow Lake is approximately 30 minutes north of Lake Louise, off the Icefields Parkway (Hwy 93) and a half-mile north of the Crowfoot Glacier.

It is one of the largest lakes in Banff National Park. Fed by meltwater from the Bow Glacier in the Wapta Icefield, the lake lies at the base of Bow Summit, which is just north of the lake, about 1 km.

I stayed in a heritage cabin while I was there. In the morning, as I was driving back to the highway, I was accompanied by a mother, Grizzly, and her young cub along the way. It was a nice early morning treat to see them.
