Northern Sunset, Whitehorse, YT

I lived and travelled in the Yukon off and on from the late 60’s to the mid 80’s. The Yukon has probably some of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen anywhere. I took the picture for this painting near Lake LeBarge one early winter evening.

I have always been impressed with the little spruce trees in the north, considering the hardships they have to endure, especially during the winters. Some of these trees are almost a hundred years old. I thought this group were beautiful with the soft sunset.
