about this painting

Mount Stephen is located in the Kicking Horse Valley of Yoho National Park, one and a half kilometers east of Field, British Columbia, and can be seen along the Trans-Canada Highway.

It was named in 1886 for George Stephen, the first president of the Canadian Pacific Railway.
I drove by it countless times and always admired it. On one of my trips to the Rockies, I decided to photograph it and eventually did this painting.
