The Columbia Icefields are a marvel. On the left is Mount Athabasca. In the center is the Athabasca Glacier, and on the right is the Snow Dome.
I stayed at the Glacier View Lodge on one of my trips. They have a terrace on the second story with telescopes so a person can have a closer view.
When I looked through one of them I noticed some climbers on the left approaching Mount Athabasca. All of a sudden one of the climbers fell through a crevasse. The others rushed to help him or her and managed to pull him or her out.
It made for a very exciting start to the day.
